Regents Review

This project, created in collaboration with Groundswell Community Mural Project, integrated visual art into the social studies curriculum at the Brooklyn High School of the Arts.

Every year, high school students across New York have to take the state Regents Exams. This project tried to make the tests a little bit easier. On the Social Studies exam, students are required to write essays about complex terms such as militarism, Satellite Republics, monotheism, and propaganda. In this project, students turned these concepts into collages that visualized otherwise abstract terms. The collages were utilized as study aids by the whole class.
