Nuestro Mundo

Nuestro Mundo was a one-day workshop that utilized the traditional Mexican craft of papel picado (perforated paper) to discuss contemporary social justice issues.

The workshop brought together youth leaders from St. Cecilia’s Parish and graduate students from Washington University in St. Louis’ Brown School of Social Work to engage in dialogue and collaborative art-making. The project resulted in a 23’ long paper mural depicting themes such as access to health care, immigrant perspectives on freedom in the US, domestic violence, and equal access to education.
